Hicksville house fire displaces six people — Poughkeepsie Community news

Four adults and two children have been displaced after a fire damaged parts of their two-story single-family home.  The Hicksville Fire Department responded to the fire, at 2 Hudson Place, at 11:27 p.m. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes by the Bethpage, Levittown, Plainview and East Meadow Fire Departments, under command of Chief Murphy. Nearly 30 fire fighters were on the scene.  No injuries were reported and the fire department reported the home had working smoke detectors. The Nassau County Fire Marshal Investigations Division and the Nassau County Police Department Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
